La recette est diffusée dans tout le pays pour limiter la consommation de riz blanc pur et constituer un nouveau plat national.

C’est alors que le Pad Thaï devient un emblème national qui a permis de relancer l’économie et favoriser un nationalisme en expansion.

Aujourd’hui, il est difficile d’imaginer un restaurant thaï sans Pad thaï à sa carte.
